Join the podcast That’s Absurd Please Elaborate at BASF! In this live taping of their show, science communicators Julian Huguet and UCSF GUEST will use humor and science research to answer ridiculous questions sent in by their global audience. Some questions the show has tackled in the past are: What would happen if gravity turned off for 10 seconds a day? How many people would it take to flip an aircraft carrier? What is the pointiest thing? How many days would it take a single pigeon to cover the Great Wall of China in excrement? It’s like asking your smartest friend to take your shower thought really super seriously. Join us to laugh, learn, and maybe discover something absurdly fascinating!

COVID Safety

The Bay Area Science Festival will manage all in-person events with the health, safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, hosts, exhibitors, and guests in mind. In response to COVID-19, we will be implementing public health requirements for all event hosts and attendees in accordance with local and state guidelines in order to celebrate science safely throughout the Bay Area. 

The Bay Area Science Festival encourages you to get vaccinated, wear a mask and practice social distancing. Be sure to check back for updated and more detailed COVID safety information prior to attending.
